Did I just see a zebra…in Hawaii?

Zebra on Hawaii

Along with his pals, watusi (a breed of longhorn cattle from Africa), bison, peacock and donkey, this zebra enjoys his own slice of paradise in South Kona. Just off mile marker 87 on the makai (toward the ocean) side of Highway 11, you can spot the zebra lazing through the afternoon and counting the cars go by in his own enclosed area.

If you turn off the highway, you’ll find some guinea fowl scuttling about and a small booth where the owners sell their own blend of Kona coffee as well as an assortment of fruit.

Who would’ve thought I’d see a zebra on the Big Island of Hawaii?
