I have a special place reserved in my inbox for daily newsletters and promotional emails. It’s called bulk mail hell. But there is one daily newsletters that I actually look forward to reading every morning: theSkimm.
TheSkimm simplifies the news every Monday through Friday for young female professionals. So, if I’m too busy and skip my daily gulp of New York Times/The Atlantic/NPR news that morning, I still know what’s going on in the world and can knowledgeably speak about the news in my conversations with others.
Reading the news is one of my favorite hobbies. It’s a good thing it is, because I hate being the last to know things. Not everyone has the time or is even interested in the news. Plus, it’s kind of a time-consuming process to sift through what you need to know and what’s just unnecessary information. With theSkimm, I can say goodbye to my crazy Twitter feed, because I know theSkimm will be waiting for me in the morning with all the right information.
Don’t worry. I still read a lot of in-depth articles. I just squirrel away the long reads for when I actually have time, like on the weekends or when my insomnia decides to attack.
Sign up for theSkimm here and let me know what you think.
