Last weekend, my cousins, their significant others, Mike and couple of our friends made our way down to Philadelphia for Winterfest at XFINITY Live! in Philadelphia. If you want to get your hands on over 140 different types of beer from more than 75 breweries, this is definitely the event for you.
A Winterfest ticket included free-rein of XFINITY Live! and its six different bar areas, including outdoor fire pits and a panoramic view of the Philadelphia skyline. Not to mention, plenty of whiskey, bourbon and cider tastings. And the more obvious – lots and lots of beer.
I really enjoyed the Victory Beer Hall, where we drank lots of fun Victory beers like White Monkey, Golden Monkey’s close cousin, and the new Hop Ranch. The area was arranged as an “Olympic Lounge” with beer pong, table dancing (Not sure when that was added as an Olympic attraction?), bands and other Olympic-style games.
The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the food. When it came time to eat, there was none. They were completely out. I couldn’t even get an order Chickie’s and Pete’s crab fries. Just two minuscule helpings of what looked like a Hamburger Helper concoction with peas.
Despite the disappointing food choices and a minor hiccup in missing our train by five minutes, I had a great time with everyone. I think the pictures prove that:
